Day 3 - At its end

After Lunch which was polished off at quite the rate, there was time for a short break of some UNO and Journal time. Back in the class room it was time to learn more about the moon and how it all works together with the sun and earth. Lots of questions were fired at Claudie and the eager minds lapped it up. All to soon it was time for Juice and Biscuits. With the beautiful background of mountains and low lying clouds, the kids and enjoyed the refreshments. 1,2,3 Block was on the cards but Mr. Kaiyo called for basketball and everyone was immediately keen to play. Two teams were chosen and basic rules were given. It was a great game, with much enthusiasm, an occasional injury and lots of shouting and some unintentional rugby moves, it came down to one point wins all. And the winners were.... Mr. Kaiyo's team!! Well done guys!
Shower time was very much needed with very dirty feet, hands and sweaty bodies, the kids and staff hit the showers. Of course there was time for some UNO again before supper time. Again, we were not disappointed - a hearty meal was once again dished up.
After quickly getting all our warm clothing piled on, we gathered once again in the classroom where Claudie began to share all about the different constellations and their Greek stories. Sadly, the skies remained clouded and so we had to turn in for the night, praying that the last two nights would reveal some clear skies to explore the stars with the new skills learned with the telescopes. It did not take long, all were fast asleep in no time....
